Visitors are invited to hang Christmas Wreaths on the trellis that are specially
erected over the Christmas and New Year period. In addition we also supply a real
Christmas Tree, positioned between the trellises, on which families can hang dedications,
in preference to hanging a wreath, and are also invited to make a donation to our
memorial fund. We hope this initative will help reduce the impact on environmental
resources at this time of year. Metal hooks are provided for all wreaths brought
to the crematorium.
During the Christmas and New Year period we also erect Christmas Trees in the Remembrance
Hall, on which families can hang messages to their loved ones. Message cards are
provided and visitors are invited to make a donation to the Crematorium adopted
On a Sunday during the Summer we hold our Open Day. Everyone is encouraged to come
along and look around the Crematorium and Grounds. We offer tours of the crematory
(no cremations are carried out on the day) to help dispel all the myths that surround
cremation. After the tours a multi-faith memorial service is held in the Ogden Chapel
to remember all those who have been cremated at the crematorium since its opening.
During December we hold an early evening Multi-Faith Christmas Memorial Service
in the Ogden Chapel, preceded by a small reception in the memorial hall. An open
invitation is extended to all, and during the service everyone is invited to light
a candle to remember their loved ones.
Information with regard the times and dates of the above events are posted on this
website nearer the time of the event. Notices and notice boards are also positioned
throughout the crematorium with the relevant information
